La R’mize, Les Gets

We can call ourselves regulars in this wonderful restaurant in the old town of Les Gets.  At La R’mize this young couple keeps the restaurant open all year round (apart from their holidays), which is much appreciated by us ‘locals’.  Their food is continually outstanding and the hospitality and service always warm and friendly. Last night was no exception and the restaurant was full! it is a good idea to book during high season for dinner.  The small touches here make the difference.  Canapes are served with the apero and normally a bite-size dessert with coffee.

The menu is not too extensive which tells me everything is freshly cooked and judging by my experiences so far this is true.  The interior has a great warm cosy atmosphere in the traditional Savoyard style.

There are 2-3 set menus and an a la carte menu, with a few Savoyard specialities. A great dessert menu.  I have had several Café gourmands and the one served at La R’mize has to rank as one of the best.  It is not on the menu and generally only available if the restaurant is not too busy, however, when you book you can ask for this in advance – and believe me it is worth it! check out Le Cafe Gourmand France.
