Le Bistro du Rhone, Annecy
Having enjoyed as normal, a wander through the lovely streets of Annecy, a wonderful medieval town in Haute Savoie, and a great morning shopping! I was anticipating a good lunch in a bistro rated No.3 on Trip Advisor…
So…Taste of Savoie had lunch today at Le Bistro du Rhone in Annecy, a small bistro near the Annecy Gare –
It was a good lunch and really well presented if a little bland – menu du jour, reasonably priced at €15.50 for 2 courses or €17.50 for 3 courses; good, friendly service. We had a vegetarian with us who was not really catered for at all! Only options were the menu du jour! Slightly cramped seating and paying at the bar rather than at table in my opinion causes unnecessary wait and people standing around between tables. Not sure it would be in my top 3 restaurants in Annecy! The evening menu does looks good and the art on the walls was fun! Maybe need to try the evening menu, although to me a restaurant showcases its skills with its lunchtime menus and this bistro was full for lunch today.

Entrée: Clafoutis aux Champignons, Plat: Dos de Cabillaud with Bisque de crabe (pictured) was one other choice of Hampe de Boeuf poelée. Good choices of desserts and pictured dessert is Charlotte aux Mangue

This is a good enough local business lunch that is quite tasty and even cozy – at least according to the fact that it is completely full everyday at lunch. But really the dinner is outstanding… we were 5 people and everyone enjoyed all 3 courses and we couldn’t resist sharing with each other either 🙂
