Le Viu Restaurant, Palace de Menthon, Menthon St. Bernard
Another great lunch another stunning view – this is what the Haute Savoie is made of! One can never tire of the ever-changing views over Lake Annecy and to be seeing it through the windows of Le Viù restaurant at The Palace de Menthon whilst enjoying some fabulous cuisine is pretty close as one can come to a heavenly day out!

The Palace de Menthon is in Menthon St. Bernard right on the banks of the beautiful Lake Annecy and the panoramic views from the windows of the restaurant Le Viù are just wonderful. Ask to be seated by a window if you book in advance although there’s every chance you may forget to speak with your lunch/dinner companions as you are memorised by the views as well as being transported into culinary heaven by your food and the ambience of the restaurant.

New Chef
The new chef de cuisine Sébastien Lefortier, who has built his career in kitchens in the South of France and French Alps resorts came to The Palace de Menthon at the end of 2014 and has really put his stamp on the cuisine.

He learned his trade working alongside the renowned chef of The Le Puck Bistro du Flocon de Sel in Megève. He has continued his career in The Sibuet Group and then joined the Château de la Chèvre d’Or in Eze. Having swapped the sea for the lakeshores, one can be assured of an interesting menu offering innovative ideas and great flavour combinations with accents of Savoyard.
The menu in Le Viù restaurant offers around 6 choices for each course priced at €40 for two courses and €45 for three courses as well as a ‘formule dejeuner’ – a lunchtime chefs suggestion which offers great value either at €25 for two courses or €30 for three courses. I will let the photos of the dishes speak for themselves!

Aubergine Poached and preserved with thyme and rosemary, Raw and cooked vegetables, Crispy ham de savoie.

The food is beautifully presented and everything I ate was extremely tasty. The dishes were well thought out with great balanced flavours. The service was excellent, attentive yet discreet.

Fillet of bass grilled on one side only, risotto made nuts and a Savoie red wine. The red wine risotto was an amazing flavour.
I have eaten several times at the summer restaurant The Palace Beach but this was my first visit to Le Viù and I will certainly be going back very soon.

I enjoyed this lunch as a guest of Le Viù restaurant at The Palace de Menthon, but received no remuneration to write this post and these are my own opinions

Those look so pretty! I’m not sure I’d have the heart to eat such a masterpiece. 🙂
The view of the lake from there must be superb!
It was a great lunch and the view from the restaurant is seriously breath-taking!
