Food & Wine Festivals and Events in France in May & June 2019

So we continue with the food & wine festivals in France in May & June – my 3rd in the series – here are my picks of the food-related events in France for May and June. Once again a great selection… from Beer Week in Paris, Strawberries in the Dordogne to open doors for wine tastings and street food in Geneva. I know Geneva is not in France but as I live so close to the Swiss border I thought I’d include these great Geneva events!

Food & Wine Festivals
in France in MAY

Les Rencontres de Cambremer, Cambremer, Calvados

From the 4 – 6th May in Cambremer in the Calvados department of Normandy – the 25th edition of this festival. This years guest of honour is the Auvergne region. On for 3 days, this year but the Monday is reserved for professionals, restaurants, hotels and businesses. You will find local producers showing their local produce, food and AOC Calvados tastings and much more. Click here for more info


Les Vignes de Fechy

Portes Ouvertes – open doors for the weekend of 4th & 5th May in Fechy, near Cruseilles in the Haute Savoie


Saint Émilion – Portes Ouvertes

Open doors weekend in the beautiful UNESCO World heritage town of Saint Emilion in The Gironde. On the 4th and 5th May, 81 chateaux will be open for tastings and visits.


The Strawberry Festival in Beaulieu sur Dordogne

Sunday the 12th May is – The celebration of the strawberry with large artisan, gourmand and local producers markets. Many animations, events for children, music, local restaurants, vintage car display and even a giant strawberry tart, which you can taste! – well worth a visit for the 27th year of this great event. Taste Paris

The 9 – 12 May it’s Taste Paris at Le Grand Palais. an amazing gastronomic event not to be missed if you’re close to Paris on these dates! Full details here


Just Rosé

10th – 12th May
So here is an event I’d like to go to! Everything Rosé. An entire festival dedicated to rosé wines at the port in Sanary-Sur-Mer. This is the 7th year this festival has been running. Check their website for full details.


VINEXPO Bordeaux

This is an international event for wine & spirit professionals. From the 13th – 16th May at the Parc des Expositions de Bordeaux, Cours Jules Ladoumegue in Bordeaux.

Caves Ouvertes, Geneva, Switzerland

Caves Ouvertes, Geneve

On the 25th May, the 32nd annual Caves Ouvertes takes place. Around 90 caves around Geneva will be open all day from 10am – 5pm for local wine tastings. Many of the caves offer lunches and entertainment. This is a great fun day out as it is possible to pick an area and do a walking tour of the caves, meet the winemakers and buy local wine.


Fête de la Cerise et Ceret de Bandas
The Ceret Cherry Festival

On the 25th & 26th May in the town centre in Ceret, the renowned cherries of Ceret are in the spotlight with their own traditional festival.
A market of local producers and artisans. Menus with cherries, animations and games. Aperos and music.
Sounds like a great fun day out!

VitiLoire Tours

This is the 17th year for Vitiloire in Tours. Saturday, May 25 (10am-7pm) and Sunday May 26th (10am-6pm). Vitiloire is the largest public event around the world. 79 appellations wines from the Loire Valley. For a weekend, it’s an opportunity to discover Tours, International City of Gastronomy and only 1 hour from Paris. On the banks of the Loire, you can discover its cultural and natural heritage…

in France in JUNE

Fête des Pêcheurs

From May 30th to June 2nd in Ajaccio, Corsica. This festival of the fishermen was the initiative of the local fishermen who formed an association – Saint Erasme. Now, this is an annual event – 2 full days of festivities during which, delicious fresh-landed grilled fish is sampled in the wonderful setting of the Tino Rossi marina, nestled at the foot of the citadel of Ajaccio. Paris Beer Week

Paris Beer Week June 8 – 16 2019

Since 2013, the Paris Beer Week – the first festival in Île-de-France exclusively dedicated to craft beer. From the 8th – 16th June, this festival brings together the independents of the French craft beer movement with a week of events, a collaborative beer, a homebrewing contest, and a “Grand Finale” closing day festival. Over 150 events are planned – festive, educational, gastro and culinary all around Paris. More than 74 breweries will be there from around Ile-de-France, France and the World! Geneva Street Food Festival

In the Jardin Anglais for the first time, this amazing street food festival is really worth a visit – From the 27 – 30 June stroll around the street food trucks and bars and taste some great dishes from around the world in a beautiful setting by Lac Leman.
