Restaurant Cozna, Annecy
A great culinary
discovery in Annecy
Restaurant Cozna is another favourite for Taste of Savoie in Annecy – I’m running out of words to describe how lucky I am to have Annecy on my doorstep with all these amazing restaurants. I started writing this post just before the first confinement in France – so I put it on hold as sadly all restaurants have been closed in France on and off for around a year! The excitement now is that they are all open again and we can eat on the terrace and from the 9th June interiors of restaurants opened too! Never again will I take for granted that I can eat wonderful food at gorgeous restaurants in Annecy whenever I wish…although I hope I can!
Restaurant Cozna is owned and run by Leo and Sandra and I love it! Leo and Sandra have a great culinary career from Parisian to New York kitchens and then back to Annecy the birthplace of Leo. Sandra worked at Yoann Conte and Leo for Aromatik. So Annecy is where they decided to set up Restaurant Cozna – Cozna is a word from Savoie dialect meaning cuisine.
You’ll find Restaurant Cozna in the old town of Annecy, on a quiet cobbled walking street. I’ve enjoyed a few lunches so far and look forward to going for dinner! The menu changes with the seasons and Leo and Sandra pride themselves on sourcing the best local and seasonal produce. Their menu really reflects this.
Lunch in Annecy
There is a daily Menu du Marché – a three-course lunch – or each dish can be taken individually so that you can choose from the a la carte too. There are around 4 – 5 choices for each course. There is a Menu of discovery (decouverte) priced at €34 and a four-course degustation menu at €52 – Prices correct at time of writing July 2021.
I have enjoyed the daily menu a few times before the confinement and restaurants were closed and here are a few of the dishes below. The service is efficient and friendly. The dishes are beautifully served and all the dishes are described really well.
At the beginning of June on the terrace in the sunshine, we ate these delicious and beautifully presented dishes for lunch in Annecy. So happy to be back to some sort of normality and enjoying one of my greatest pleasures – eating good food that has been created by a talented chef.
Look at these delicious desserts – Left: Meringue, fraises et basilic, mascarpone fouettée, pistaches, sorbet fraise
Right: Sablé Breton, cerises, siphon persil, glace yaourt
Restaurant Cozna is well worth a visit when you are in Annecy – The welcome from Sandra and her team is warm and friendly and the passion from Chef Leo through his delicious food is evident! Be sure to book this is a popular Annecy restaurant. Awarded the Bib Gourmand by Michelin in 2021 – so they must be doing something right!
