Alternative Birthday Celebrations Just because we Alternative Birthday Celebrations
Just because we can’t all get together at the moment doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate Birthdays! We found a great way to celebrate a friends Birthday yesterday. A zoom cooking class with the lovely Nikki from @chaletsavoiefaire - this was a lot of fun and a couple of hours to cook and share the Birthday fun with our friend.

Have you found creative ways to celebrate Birthdays in this time?

Check my story for more pics!

One of the things we made was this fabulous gluten free and Vegan chocolate Torte and it’s delicious!
No added sugar - so it’s healthy too!
It’s got hazelnuts, cocoa powder and coconut oil for the base and a delicious chocolate and coconut cream filling.

Memories of evenings out in Annecy and delicious d Memories of evenings out in Annecy and delicious desserts!
Just flicking through photos and remembering the last time I went to a restaurant for dinner and walked around the streets of Annecy. Our restaurants in France have been closed for ages it seems and the 6pm curfew means we cannot go out in the evenings!
So I thought I’d remind myself of a wonderful dinner at Le Bilboquet in Annecy and these great desserts.
1. Brownies chocolat aux noix et noisettes, praline noir de pécan, creme chocolat caramel, crème glacée chocolate blanc
2. Autour de la figues, biscuit Joconde, emulsion your et grace vanille

What is your last dining out memory?
It is wonderful that so many local restaurants are offering take aways and some offering delivery services during these times, but I can’t wait to be able to visit restaurants again soon I hope.

Mardi Gras is also known as Fat Tuesday (translated from French) and Shrove Tuesday (Pancake Day in the UK) and is the last day of feasting and eating rich fatty foods before the fasting of Lent.
So grab your Bugnes and celebrate on Tuesday!

BRITISH FOODS IN FRANCE I think at times we all mi BRITISH FOODS IN FRANCE
I think at times we all miss foods from our homes and childhood. I know I do, and certain foods evoke great memories.  Although I’ve happily chosen France as my home and take huge pleasure in all of the glorious french foods, restaurants and local produce; I still need mint sauce with my lamb, marmite on my toast (or should I say tartine) and I love a shortbread with my English Tea!  Well, now you can enjoy all those treats you may have been missing...read my latest blog post, I caught up with the owner of Roastbeef & Frog
