Restaurant Cozna, Annecy

Restaurant Cozna is another favourite for Taste of Savoie in Annecy – I’m running out of words to describe how lucky I am to have Annecy on my doorstep with all these amazing restaurants. I started writing this post just before the first confinement in France – so I put it on hold as sadly all restaurants have been closed in France on and off for around a year! The excitement now is that they are all open again and we can eat on the terrace and from the 9th June interiors of restaurants opened too!

Roastbeef & Frog

I think at times we all miss foods from our homes and childhood. I know I do, and certain foods evoke great memories. Although I’ve happily chosen France as my home and take huge pleasure in all of the glorious french foods, restaurants and local produce; I still need mint sauce with my lamb, marmite on my toast (or should I say tartine) and I love a shortbread with my English Tea! Well now you can enjoy all those treats you may have been missing

La Ciboulette Restaurant Annecy

So now right up there on my list of favourite restaurants in Annecy, is La Ciboulette. I enjoyed lunch in the summer on the terrace and on my latest shopping day out in Annecy I had lunch inside the restaurant. Having had such a great first lunch, I was hoping the return would be as good…IT WAS

Aromatik Restaurant Annecy

Fabulous! another delicious restaurant discovery in Annecy. Aromatik restaurant in Annecy has two entrances and is in a lovely old building which can be accessed either via Filaterie or Rue du Collège. Aromatik boasts not one but two outdoor eating areas and has a stunningly decorated interior restaurant combining traditional aspects of the building with modern accents and colours

Restaurant L’Esquisse, Annecy

Is there no end to the fabulous places to eat in Annecy – it would seem not! My latest find is L’Esquisse Restaurant owned by Stéphane and Magali Dattrino.  Situated on the Rue Royale in the centre of Annecy, this little gem and it is a small restaurant takes only 18 covers for each sitting in the calm and tastefully decorated restaurant.

Les Palettes, Annecy

I know I say this everytime I visit Annecy but it really is true…this is a wonderful and interesting medieval town with so many great places to discover, shops to visit, galleries to see and historic sites to enjoy.  Not to mention the absolutely stunning freshwater lake surrounded by mountain scenery.  Apart from all of these reasons to visit, there is a plethora of fabulous restaurants and cafes to eat in!  So my latest find is Les Palettes and this is no ordinary restaurant/cafe, it is also a concept store and those who know me well will know that a melange of shopping and eating is my idea of heaven!

L’Ancolie Restaurant, Cruseilles

The first time I visited L’Ancolie Restaurant was in 2013 as you can see from my post below.  Well now in November 2017 L’Ancolie has new owners.  Olivier and Katia Gérard who have been at Le Petit Monde in Viry this year are the new proprietors.  I have enjoyed several good meals at Le Petit monde and I look forward to enjoying many more at L’Ancolie.  They opened on Tuesday and 2 days later I went for lunch!  It was great to have the chance to chat to Olivier and Katia today, their enthusiasm for their new venture is evident.  They are looking forward to adding their own signature to L’Ancolie in the New Year.  They will close for the last 2 weeks of January for a refurbishment.

Le Bilboquet Restaurant Annecy

So on this particular visit to Annecy, Taste of Savoie had lunch at Le Bilboquet Restaurant Annecy towards the back of the old town, so if you are planning to visit the food market on either a Tuesday or Friday you can just wander along for lunch afterwards. You definitely need to book at Le Bilboquet restaurant Annecy.

Le Denti, Annecy

What a great discovery in Annecy – this is a restaurant that you probably won’t find while strolling the streets of the old town and not a tartiflette or any Savoyard fayre in sight! So probably not a resto that the tourists will seek out and on the day I visited, it was very much local clientele.
