Vina Annapurna, Les Gets

Now we have another new gastro restaurant in Les Gets! Vina Annapurna which opened at the end of the winter ski season 2018.  It’s open for summer too and I got my chance to try it!  The restaurant scene in Les Gets continues to evolve in a good way and the Vina Annapurna is a great addition.

One Night in Sarlat

Sarlat, what a gorgeous medieval town.  I had time to enjoy a quick stopover in Sarlat la Caneda on my latest road trip from the Haute Savoie to the beautiful South West region of France.  I’ve been wanting to visit for a while and these beautiful cobbled streets with their tall old stone buildings didn’t disappoint. I stayed at Le Glacier and my room which was huge was No.1 looking out over the square – Place de Liberté.

Hanoi, Vietnam

Hanoi Street Food Tour – The first thing we did was take a food tour – one of my favourite things to do and a great way to discover the culture and vibe of a new place. I booked a private morning tour with Hanoi Street Food Tours. We took a taxi and met at their offices downtown. What a great street food tour! we met our lovely friendly guide Loan who then spent the next few hours proudly guiding us through our introduction to Vietnamese food.

Les Palettes, Annecy

I know I say this everytime I visit Annecy but it really is true…this is a wonderful and interesting medieval town with so many great places to discover, shops to visit, galleries to see and historic sites to enjoy.  Not to mention the absolutely stunning freshwater lake surrounded by mountain scenery.  Apart from all of these reasons to visit, there is a plethora of fabulous restaurants and cafes to eat in!  So my latest find is Les Palettes and this is no ordinary restaurant/cafe, it is also a concept store and those who know me well will know that a melange of shopping and eating is my idea of heaven!

Les Cocottes, Christian Constant

Les Cocottes by Christian Constant is conveniently situated at The Casino on the border of Switzerland and France just outside Saint Julien-en-Genevois.  It is open 7 days a week and has easy parking.  So, they are the practical reasons … The real reason is that this restaurant serves great food at good prices in a really good modern, light and spacious space with a brasserie style.  From May to September the outdoor terrace which offers shade and faces the Jura is a very convivial place to dine.  Et voila so many reasons to give it a try!
